Environmental Policy

Our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our software, our operations, and our supply chain.

Statement

Devology Labs is committed to operating sustainably and to reducing the environmental impact of our software, our day-to-day operations, and our supply chain.

As a primarily remote, software-only business, our direct environmental footprint is small. Our greatest impact is in the cloud workloads we design and run on behalf of clients — and we treat that as the most material area to improve.

Scope

This policy applies to DEVOLOGY.IO Limited (London), DEVOLOGY LABS, LLC (Delaware), and Visdata Kft. (Budapest) and covers our offices, equipment, travel, supply chain, and the cloud architectures we design for clients.

Areas of focus

Cloud carbon: we recommend region selection, instance sizing, and serverless patterns that reduce energy use and carbon intensity, and we use AWS Customer Carbon Footprint Tool data where available.

Equipment: we extend the life of laptops and peripherals, and we recycle responsibly through certified providers at end of life.

Travel: we default to remote-first delivery and minimise non-essential business travel; where we do travel, we prefer rail to short-haul flights.

Suppliers: we prefer cloud and corporate-services providers with credible net-zero or renewable-energy commitments.

Review

This policy is reviewed at least annually. We do not currently produce a public emissions report given our size, but we monitor our cloud and travel impact informally and tighten our practice where we can.
